Nora Mulder studied piano with Barbara Grajewska at the conservatories of Rotterdam and Maastricht, and also in Parijs with Claude Helffer, where she specialised in contemporary music. After her graduation in 1993 she performed in the Netherlands and abroad as a solist and as a member of different ensembles, such as the Newt Hinton Ensemble, which she co-founded. She also composed music for several theatre- and dansproductions (i.e.. the Scapino Ballet).
