Exciting klezmer and balkan music in this unique concert by the Amsterdam Klezmer Band together with the popular Hungarian folk band Söndörgő.

The Amsterdam Klezmer Band started 20 years ago as a street orchestra playing traditional Jewish songs. The ensemble quickly became internationally known for its contagious mix of klezmer with old as well as new dance music. Now the orchestra joins forces with Söndörgő, the Hungarian formation that sheds new light on lost music from the Balkans. Söndörgő conquers festivals throughout Europe with explosive performances on acoustic stringed instruments from the tamburitza family.

‘Fast and furious, fingers flying with a fiery panache, Söndörgő are one of the most exciting bands in Europe. With their signature instrument, the tambura, the band brilliantly combines respect for tradition with a desire to innovate and a fizzing virtuosity’ (Songlines).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
