Migration, the band fronted by master drummer Antonio Sanchez, was named after his successful debut album from 2007, which featured Pat Metheny and Chick Corea. These famous band leaders have always been wildly enthusiastic about Sanchez’s playing, a melting pot of styles which keeps up momentum no matter how hard or soft it sounds, and which makes it seem as if three percussionists are playing along. This summer Migration will present a new album called New Life. ‘Champion’s league postbop’ (The Guardian).
