LOREN STILLMAN, GARY VERSACE, NATE RADLEY, TED POOR
Loren Stillman alto saxophone, Gary Versace organ, Nate Radley guitar, Ted Poor drums
Since a very young age Loren Stillman has been counted among the best alto saxophonists in New York. He can evoke the lyrical playing of Lee Konitz as well as the multi-faceted tenor sound of Coltrane. Bad Touch emerged from his quartet with Hammond organ player Gary Versace. The band members challenge each other with compositions that bring to mind the stylistic jump-cut music of John Zorn. ‘A bustling band sound... they dig deep and seamlessly soar heavenward’ (New York Times).
