The sextet of vocalist Greetje Bijma and pianist Michiel Braam founded the Bijma Braam Sextet two years ago at the performance celebrating Bijma’s 25th anniversary as a performer. To Braam and Bijma it felt as if they had been working together for many years. They decided to extend the collaboration with a new project in 2010, called Autumn Sounds. Both will contribute new material for this project. ‘The top of the Dutch improvised music world far outdoes itself, with Greetje as the catalyst. It swings, tone colours crackle and Bijma totally immerses herself in the characters she sings (Trouw).
