The DKBB unites unique improvisers and classical musicians in adventurous, scintillating music and richly diverse sonic worlds. The repertoire consists of new works by very different composers, incorporating diverse forms of improvisation, while also containing ground-breaking historical big band music. This concert will feature music byJan-Bas Bollen, Joost Buis, Ron Ford, Cor Fuhler, Robert Graettinger, Guus Janssen, Hilary Jeffery, Geert van Keulen, David Kweksilber, Yannis Kyriakides and Keyla Orozco. Before and after the concert DJ/VJ Peter Kok will play music and show rare film footage from jazz and world music history.
