Eric Dolphy’s At the Five Spot Vol. 1 & 2 document one night in July 1961 and are among the most beautiful live albums in jazz history. The quintet featuring Booker Little, Mal Waldron, Richard Davis and Eddie Blackwell, was brought together by Dolphy for a two week stint at the New York club. After 50 years it is still a tremendous source of inspiration for forward-thinking improvisers. Two exciting formations pay tribute to the legendary quintet by playing the same repertoire. In the first group members of Mostly Other People Do The Killing are joined by New York pianist Ron Stabinsky. The second is a one-off collaboration of musicians from Berlin, Paris, London and Amsterdam.
This tribute will take place July 7 in the Bimhuis and July 8 at the North Sea Jazz Festival.

Ticket: € 18
