The internationally renowned, Amsterdam based record label Evil Rabbit celebrates its third birthday at this festival with the launch of three brand new CDs. Albert van Veenendaal’s Minimal Damage is fully dedicated to prepared piano. Italian master pianist Gianni Lenoci, known for his collaborations with artists that include Joëlle Léandre, Steve Lacy and Enrico Rava, has created an evocative, original sound with Ephemeral Rhizome. The album Windfall is the result of a new collaboration between reed player Ab Baars and double bassist Meinrad Kneer. Tonight’s guest of honour is the famous drummer Bill Elgart, who has played with musicians who include Paul Bley, Sam Rivers, Dave Holland and Lee Konitz. All musicians will perform in various combinations, in the true spirit of Evil Rabbit Records.
