Fly is ready for the big breakthrough with their second album Sky & Country, released on ECM Records. Drummer Jeff Ballard, bassist Larry Grenadier and tenor/soprano saxophonist Mark Turner choose collaboration over ego; their inventive, melodic compositions are all about cohesiveness and originality. The three players came to prominence in the bands of, amongst others, Chick Corea, Joshua Redman and Brad Mehldau. ‘Fly takes it a notch higher by reaching beyond the obvious’ (Downbeat).
