Sax player Peter Brötzmann played with nearly every improviser of name, in continuously changing line-ups. Still, the pioneer of European free jazz regularly returns to the same rhythm section, that of electric bass player Marino Pliakas (Steamboat Switzerland) and drummer Michael Wertmüller. Their band Full Blast sounds like a cleansing tornado. ‘Seeing the trio in action is a revelatory experience, and this is pretty much mandatory if you’re a fan of free jazz, noise-rock or extreme music’ (Washington City Paper).
