With her calm, exceptional voice Gretchen Parlato makes each song her own. On her recent album 'In a Dream', the American vocalist interprets compositions by Stevie Wonder, Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock among others. These last two have been fans from day one; Hancock describes her hushed vocal approach as ‘magical’. ‘Parlato’s drifting lullabies, whispered calypsos and rare talent for imparting emotional weight to scat lines reveal a star in the wings’ (The Guardian).
