Multifaceted program with new music performed by Syrian soloists in collaboration with the New European Ensemble, as part of the festival Oriental Landscapes.
For the first time in The Netherlands, spread over five cities, music festival Oriental landscapes presents new and traditional Eastern music. Echoes from the past and sounds from the future come together in a dialogue between East and West. The festival’s highlight is the collaboration between New European Ensemble from The Netherlands and virtuoso soloists from Syria. They will perform compositions by prominent Syrian musicians such as Zaid Jabri, Dima Orsho and Nouri Iskandar, who also played at Holland Festival 2005.
