Troubadour Pedro Luis Ferrer gives his own twist to traditional Cuban music. Since the 1970s he has been an active composer, arranger, singer, guitarist and tresero. His funny and poignant lyrics often originate from his family tradition and comment on contemporary life. His recent CD release, Tangible, features influences from Arabic music and jazz. ‘Simple but lovely, importing small dissonances and hints of Cuba’s African past’ (New York Times).
