From the raw, catchy kwela songs out of the shebeens, the bars of his home country South Africa, to free play on saxophones and flutes, Sean Bergin brings it all with compelling swing, putting his heart and soul into every note. Based in Amsterdam he leads his MOB (My Own Band) in several guises; New MOB is mainly dedicated to the singing voice. ‘A born melodic player… gospel, Celtic song and the uproar of Charles Mingus are never far removed’ (Volkskrant).
