Susanne Alt sopraan-/altsax, Thijs Cuppen piano/Fender Rhodes, Sven Schuster bas, Philippe Lemm drums

The Susanne Alt Quartet plays funky modern souljazz. The band of the Amsterdam based alto saxophone player had its breakthrough last year with the CD On Track, which featured funk trombone player Fred Wesley. The quartet played before a sold out Bimhuis en did several television performances. After seven years and three studio albums the group will record a live CD at the Bimhuis. Via internet the audience can choose which compositions will be performed. 'Susanne Alt plays good dance music, like jazz music was originally intended. The alto saxophonist has an infectious tone' (Het Financiële Dagblad).
