After 30 years with over 5000 concerts and 2500 workshops on the Oude Schans, the Bimhuis will move to the Piet Heinkade this winter, where the programming will be continued in February 2005. In the final week we will look back on the old music club with a varied closing program. Unfortunately it is impossible to focus on all musical movements and topics that passed in revue in the last three decades. Just like there is no way to invite all the musicians from around the world who contributed to the look and reputation of the podium. Therefore we simply present a lot of striking music with regular groups and new/renewed meetings in multiple performances per evening. The very last night on the Oude Schans with more premieres, old hits, new hits and musicians from the very beginning of the Bimhuis era in a killing program that will only be definite after it’s over. So far, this can be expected: Arnold Dooyeweerd (leader of the Tuesday workshop since 30 years) and Jasper Blom (session coordinator on Tuesdays) present their new trio that they founded with the young, highly talented drummer Flin van Hemmen. J.C. Tans returns with his Orchestra (formely known as the Rockets) for a burning goodbye set. Who else? Who will turn off the stage lights? Two things are sure: it will be a memorable night and it will take some time before it is quiet on the Oude Schans. The performance of Hans Dulfer has been cancelled.
