With his new 13-piece all-star-formation, that includes master percussionist Louis Moholo, cellist Tristan Honsinger shows the many faces of a mid-sized string orchestra (4 violins, 2 violas, 2 celli, 2 double basses, piano, guitar and percussion) as well as presenting various combinations of parts of the whole. Other ensemble members contribute compositions besides Honsinger, within a traditional concert frame of reference, though making use of modern compositional ideas and musical baggage – Caribbean and South African music, jazz, impro and contemporary composed music.
