When playing his piano Wolfert Brederode sounds as precise as a concert pianist and as unpredictable as a jazz musician. His quartet’s music is not about solos and swing, but about space, sound and well placed notes. Brederode was the first Dutchman to get signed by the renowned ECM label, which led to two albums, Currents and Post Scriptum. ‘Hauntingly beautiful harmonies… the band’s buoyant interplay and relaxed vibe enables you to sit back and drift into a state of musical bliss’ (Jazz Review).
