Zakarya, led by famous accordionist Yves Weyh, is one of the most excellent avant-klezmer ensembles in Europe. John Zorn signed the French group for his Tzadik label on which they released three impressive albums. Der Rote Bereich is a perfect reflection of the lively impro scene in Berlin. With furious energy and original compositions, this antithesis of conventional jazz reached a worldwide cult status. Horny jazz punk moving between solid songs and lyrical ballads. A double bill for the adventurous concert visitor.
